We at Villagers want to share the news about the upcoming Get Off The Grid Fest!
Get Off The Grid Fest is a forum for sharing ideas, knowledge and know-how ~ about sustainable lifestyles and renewable energy, set against a backdrop of 34 bands on 3 stages.
The festival is a three day event from August 9th through August 11th, at Big Berea Pasture on Riceville Road.
One of the features of the festival that urban homesteaders will especially like is the Solar Expo. There you will find information about installing and financing solar. Several of the companies involved specialize in small-scale solar units and microgrids. In fact, the entire festival is powered by solar energy!
Other topics that may interest urban homesteaders are Regenerative Agriculture, Beekeeping 101, Aquaponics, Biochar and Renewable Energy Systems on a Farm.
Of course, what interests everybody is who is on the music lineup. The headline act is Rising Appalachia at 9:30 on Saturday night. Several Asheville-based musicians will be playing like Jeff Sipe & Kaizen, Taylor Martin, Josh Phillips, Biko & Aruana and David D’Angelo.
