“Quality, transparency and responsibility are more than buzzwords to us. Since day one, we’ve worked hard to incorporate these concepts into everything we do.”
~ Sarah Martin, Co-Founder, Green River Botanicals

Introducing Green River Botanicals!  Green River Botanicals was founded on a family farm nestled in the shadow of Mt. Pisgah near Asheville, NC.  They believe in sustainable hemp cultivation and are inspired by the deep connection between land, farmer and flower, allowing them to produce a line of quality therapeutic hemp/CBD products using only the purest of ingredients and ethical business practices in everything they do.

We are delighted to carry Green River Botanicals products in our shop.  Read on for more information from this wonderful company!

From Green River Botanicals:

The benefits of medicinal hemp and CDB have become more widely accepted by consumers in recent years, however the hemp product industry currently remains relatively unregulated with regard to product manufacturing and labeling. We believe it is more important than ever to ensure the consumer has access to the highest quality hemp products and are appropriately educated on what questions to ask before purchasing a hemp product.  Full product transparency through meticulous laboratory testing and the use of quality USDA certified organic products are paramount to every product we make available to consumers.

Do You Know Where Your Hemp Comes From?

Currently, all of our products are derived from hemp grown on our farm under the sun and in the soil here in Western North Carolina.  We are happy to announce that we received our USDA Organic Certification in early 2019 and have been using organic farming practices from day one.  As we continue to grow as a company, we are committed to partnering with other farmers who share our regenerative, organic farming principles.

High Quality Ingredients

In addition to our organic hemp farming practices, we strive to source the highest quality organic ingredients whenever possible.  The MCT oil in our hemp tinctures is USDA certified organic and is derived from coconuts not palm oil. The shea butter in our topical salve is fair trade as well as USDA certified organic and is complemented by the use of high quality Arnica, Calendula and Botswalia for a true soothing relief combination.

Third Party Lab Tests

Any reputable hemp product should provide third party lab testing so that you know exactly what is in your product. This is important for a couple of reasons:

Potency:  You can verify that what is said on the label is in the bottle. Within the industry there have been many reports of huge discrepancies in product potency. Some have been found to have no hemp or CBD whatsoever. The potency tests also provides you with information on the other cannabinoids and terpenes are present and in what quantities.

Purity: Being a largely unregulated industry, it falls on the producer to perform tests and the consumer to demand them. You should know your product is free of mold or heavy metals.  However, currently the industry does not require such regulation or transparency. Green River provides a full panel of laboratory tests on all finished product to ensure there are no impurities and contaminants.  This includes testing all finished products for microbiological, mycotoxins, pesticides, heavy metals and residual solvents.

All of our lab tests are available on our website at GreenRiverBotanicals.com/lab-tests.

Full Spectrum

Many studies have found that a full spectrum product is substantially more effective than those made from isolates. Isolates are made through many layers of processing and the use of very aggressive solvents.

Full spectrum means that the product contains a range of cannabinoids and terpenes. In other words all of the therapeutic compounds found in the flower are present in the product. Our tinctures have four major cannabinoids (CBD, THC, CBC, CBDv) and more than fourteen different terpenes.
