12.3.17 + 12.6.17 // Wooden Spoon Carving with Nate Chambers and Andy McFate // 5:30-9 + 6:30-9pm

In this introduction to woodcarving class students will learn the basics of how to make beautiful and useful wooden butter knives, spatulas and spoons from common Appalachian woods. The class will cover wood selection, design, and the safe and effective use of knives and hook tools. Tools will be provided for use during the course. Carving and hook knives are also available for purchase at the shop. Carving blanks will be included in the cost of the course, and additional blanks can be purchased for further practice at home.

$75 per person; Class fees include two nights of instruction and plenty of carving blanks.

December 3 from 5:30-9pm + December 6 from 6:30 - 9pm.

Nate Chambers and Andy McFate are returning for their third year to teach introductory carving at Villagers. Both are local and accomplished Asheville craftsmen.
