09.29.17 // Acornucopia Tasting Party with the nutty buddy collective // 6:30 - 8:30pm

Here's a chance to taste some of the fruits of our native nuts. No longer must you lament not having ever tasted roasted black walnut coffee, or hickory nut milk, or even the simple pleasure of nibbling upon a delicious acorn flour biscuit topped with acorn oil mayonnaise.

This is part of a series of "house storming" parties where we're launching the Acornucopia Project, a decentralized network of nut trees, foragers, and foodies working to earn our bread by harvesting the neglected abundance of our native trees. Expect to try some of the products Acornucopia Project will be marketing this fall. We will learn about how best to gather, and what nuts we are paying cash for, and what can be made from them. Let's share all this abundance over a discussion of how social "nutwork" marketing promises to transform us from a world of corporations into a world of cooperation. Let's revive and reboot the ancient village cooperation of foraging, processing and marketing of open source wild foods, and put good wholesome, nutritional, perennial foods accessible and back on our plates.

We'll also have a Nut Wizardry demonstration and harvesting tools will be available for purchase.

Donations will be accepted at the event.
