Join Emily Bell of Rhythm & Ritual for a day of broomcraft and connection.
More than a handcrafts class, Emily creates a ritual space for participants to settle in and create with intention. Everyone will have an opportunity to make a variety of whisk brooms, including turkey wings, hawk tails, and stitched whisks. Emily will offer instruction on each type of broom and participants will each craft a minimum of three brooms.
We’ll work with broomcorn - a variety of sorghum that has been grown on many an Appalachian homestead for this very purpose.
Dried, locally grown flowers will be available as well to add an extra adornment to these practical yet beautiful tools.
