2.19.20 // Processing Roadkill: Honoring Death with Luke McLaughlin // 6:30-9:30
Thousands of animals are killed by vehicles every year in Western North Carolina. This is a tragic consequence of our fast-paced lifestyle. Instead of letting these animals rot on the side of the road, we can honor their lives and deaths by connecting to them with our hands and our hearts. Come and learn the art of processing road kill animals for their skins and possibly their meat.
Students will learn how to distinguish what is ok to pick up and what isn't, as well as skinning basics, how to honor the animal, and the face our own inevitable deaths.
