10.18.16 // Tree Crops for the Appalachian Orchard // 6:30-8:30pm

Does a diverse array of nutritious and delicious foods falling from the sky for you and future generations sound like fun to you? Crops from trees - those soil-building, shade-offering, rain-making, carbon-sequestering, air-cleaning, habitat-offering wonders - have been a central feature of long-lived, sustainable cultures throughout the world. And there's no better time than now to get started: fall is the best time to plant trees! Join Tom Celona and Justin Holt as they rap about a few of their favorite tree crops and share some basic skills and knowledge for getting growing. Purchase an apple or pear tree from their nursery and the class is free.

Pick-up dates are scheduled for 12/1 and 12/4, at the shop during business hours.

Tom Celona and Justin Holt are co-founders of Nutty Buddy Nursery, offering top quality bare-root fruit trees, and the Nutty Buddy Collective, which is raising several acres of fruit and nut trees in Leicester.

$10, per person - or -  free with the purchase of a tree.
