Learn about Solar PV and Solar Thermal systems, and how to apply the most current solar technology and equipment to your home farm or business, including battery storage options. Discuss the current financial incentives, such as federal tax credits and the solar rebate program for Duke customers in NC, and how to approach solar if you are connected to a rural power company that does not offer net-metering.  


$10 in advance, $15 at the door

With 20 years of experience in the solar industry, Matthew joined Sundance Power Systems  in 2014.  Matt has extensive experience building passive solar homes and installed his first solar PV system in 1996.  He trained at the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association in 1999, then at Solar Energy International in 2000, and became a NABCEP Certified PV Installer with the inaugural exam in 2003.  Matt went on to install 100’s of solar systems of all types and sizes.  Matt raised his two children, now young adults, in Athens OH, before moving to NC in 2014.  He enjoys hiking, paddling, playing Ultimate and working on his homestead in Madison County.  
Cancellation by Villagers:
If a class needs to be cancelled because (1) it does not meet the minimum number of registrations or (2) due to inclement weather, you will be notified by email 24 hrs in advance.  Please check your email 24 hrs prior to class.  For cancellations by Villagers, you will receive a full refund.
Cancellation by Student:
If you cancel within 48 hrs of the class, you will receive a refund in the form of store credit.  Cancellations with less that 48 hrs notice are not eligible for a refund.
If you do not show up and do not give notice, your registration fee will be treated as a donation to the teacher and the shop.
