These mountains are full of herbal medicines that our body can enjoy and utilize to increase our vitality and maximize our nutritional intake. Learn who and how as we meet and taste many forms of some of these wild plants that will keep your body vital and wild through fall and winter...and just a bit less domesticated. We will sample many simple and delicious foraged tonic herbs through such things as herbal vinegars, honeys, salts, powders and and other things that will diversify your nourishment and can easily allow you to "eat something wild everyday". You will leave with wisdom, inspiration, alive taste buds and an herbal tonic creation.

$35-60, includes a tonic herbal creation. Additional $5 fee to register at the door.

Jamie Sparks is the Founder and Director of Herban Farmacy, Asheville's first Community Supported Herbalism (herbal CSA) and small locally grown and wildcrafted herbal apothecary. Jamie is also a herbally focused massage therapist emphasizing topical supports for the body. Jamie teaches programs to adults and children at herb schools, massage schools, public schools, and various earth skills gatherings in the southeastern part of the country. She has also volunteered her time as an herbalist at the Ithaca Free Clinic and offered first aid and medical support at many events. When not wildcrafting and concocting herbal delights she can be found creating anything from baskets, to fiber to silversmithing.
