Join us for a inspiring workshop on how to become a vegetable fermentation artist! The class will focus on the practical application of vegetable fermentation techniques including the skills needed to make the cabbage-based ferments, kraut & kimchi. Class attendees will have the opportunity to make their own quart jar of kraut to take home and will leave with the knowledge of how to experiment further in their home kitchen. Come with questions, failed ferment stories and recipe ideas!

Chelsea Wakstein recently moved to the Asheville area from Charlottesville, Virginia where she was living on a small urban homestead, growing her own food and performing fermentation experiments - putting just about everything in the garden in her krauts. In Virginia she worked as the creative director for Farmstead Ferments, a small fermented food business and was graced with the opportunity to hone in her fermentation skills & teach fermentation classes around the state. She's passionate about spreading the gospel of bacteria, hosting community gatherings, eating wild foods, teaching earth based education, & mindful eating.

Students are asked to bring one wide mouth quart jar to the class.
