Would you like to grow vegetables in your backyard? This class will walk the beginner gardener through the process of how to get started and provide fundamental information on growing vegetables. Participants will leave with an Asheville planting guide, a sample garden map, and the confidence needed to dig in!
Kate Hanford is a gardener and a local foods advocate. Her history includes directing an Asheville farmer’s market and managing both educational farms and garden demonstration sites. In her most recent experience, she worked as the site manager at Ashevillage Institute, an Eco-urban homestead, where she explored creative back-yard garden designs and taught classes on growing vegetables, composting, mushroom production, and other homestead systems. $15 per person, includes planting guide.
