It’s being said we have a Macrame revival on our hands! True, there seems to be a resurgence of this 70’s art form, and if you’ve ever looked longingly at other’s plant hangers, knotted to perfection, now’s your chance to learn!

In this class you will be taught two popular Macrame knots, the square knot and the spiral stitch, to create a basic plant hanger. I will also teach the construction of a tassel, to finish off your piece. Class fee includes rope and a ring. Bring a pot of your choice!

Amelia Pate has been an artist in differing mediums for most of her life, exploring everything from painting and sculpture to jewelry and fiber arts. Originally from Apex, NC, Amelia spent several years in NYC working with various artists and boutique companies. After moving to Asheville to study Herbal Medicine, she became intrigued by macrame and has been experimenting with knotting arts for over a year now. She is in the process of launching a jewelry line called Nefer, that incorporates macrame techniques and brass beadwork. It will be available online later this spring!
