10.17.18 // Foraging Fall Edibles and Herbs with Abby Artemisia // 6:30-9pm
The abundance of summer has passed, but many wild goodies still abound. There is plenty of food and medicine surrounding us this time of year, if you just know where to look. Autumn is a great time for greens that come back after the summer heat has passed. The dropping temperatures help remove the bitterness of summer and make them delicious again. It's also a great time for root digging! Learn the local roots, tips for harvesting safely and sustainably, and the best tools for the job. We'll go for an urban walk to meet the plants, then head back to the classroom to talk more in-depth about their benefits along with processing, preservation, and storage techniques.
$25-40 per person, sliding scale. Additional $5 fee to register at the door.
