The world is changing, and so is Villagers.

The world is changing, and so is Villagers.

This is life on planet earth, just a little more intense then before, yet an immense opportunity. It is a time for examining your true heart’s desires and so much has been put into perspective. Like a butterfly, it seems we too must go through this time, when life as we have known it is different- when being a caterpillar feels somehow false and yet we don’t know who we are supposed to become. All we know is that something bigger is calling us to change.

It has been a full year of operating this beloved niche shop in West Asheville. In this time I have observed and listened to the community. I haven't changed the shop much. And now, the world is changing, and so must we. Although the butterfly and the caterpillar are completely different, they are one and the same. What we will become will not be a departure from before, more like an improvement.

Villagers is looking for a new location. In this time, we will be taking a break from having a storefront and going online with local pick-up and shipping. We will still be able to provide you the tools you so passionately need in this time. Trust, we are evolving beyond retail and into a more sustainable model of community cooperation, that’s more land based with shared ownership. We have the truest of intentions of reopening in a new location, with redefined purpose, with vigor and dedication to what the community and the world is asking us to do now that everything feels different.

Villagers has become a part of my life. I am committed and Villagers is not closing. We must always trust our own process, even if sometimes along the way things seem uncertain or nearly impossible. Change is good, and transformation can be powerful.

Tears have been shed and watered the seeds of new growth for Villagers. I am truly beyond grateful for the outpouring of support, friendship, and growth I have received from all of you. I thank you all for your words of encouragement, your ideas, for your purchases, your likes, your hugs, your being...

Don’t be afraid. Change is such a beautiful thing, said the Butterfly.

You are all the heart and soul of Villagers. We hope to evolve together, to listen to your suggestions, to understand what is needed and how we can show up again. We can use your support to get through this transition! Our way forward will be guided by Heart, and a dedication to serve. Read on to learn about the foreseen plans for our blossoming and how you can help guide us.

So excited for the collective future of this business, better and brighter together.

Villagers was always been meant to be a collective. We are exploring different models and intend to offer the community a membership for special ordering, discounts, shared work/maker/healing space, services, and more!
Have ideas? We want to hear them! We are open to collaboration and want to meet the needs of the community. SEND US YOUR IDEAS

We will continue to offer focused workshops on the farm. Our classes will continue to be accessible to all, no prior knowledge necessary. We believe in the effectiveness of learning hands on and from each other in a fun and engaging environment. Our workshops will be hands-on experiences learning essential homesteading and DIY skills.

Villagers is looking for a new location. We want to manifest a space that can host gatherings, overnight accommodations, provide a maker space, and even have a small urban garden. We would love to share space with local artisans or another small business. A house, a bodega, a central meeting space for many. We hope to stay in the Asheville area and are putting feelers out for potential locations in Asheville River Arts District, Weaverville Hot Springs and Marshall. We are open to other locations as we are just in the beginning of the exploration phase.

Please reach out if you have any ideas or want to collaborate with us! LET'S CO-CREATE!

In closing, I feel and have always felt that Villagers is much more than a retail shop. We have this opportunity to be still, to drop down into our hearts, to awaken our imaginations, and collaborate with the beautiful community that surrounds us. The possibilities know no bounds. As we enter the chrysalis phase of the business we thank you for your love and support, and hope you will continue to count on us and share your thoughts as we regain momentum for what we are truly meant to become.

With Love,
